For Mac you will need the development and runtime libraries
Windows and Linux will for now just need the dev libraries
Note:
There are many good tutorials out there on setting up your compiler to link with SDL libraries.\\ Lazy foo has some of the best.
If the setup tutorials I provide are confusing or don't work for you feel free to use a some one else to get your self set up with the SDL libraries.
SDL_gfx does not alway provide binaries for all Operating System especial Mac. You may have to build them from source. If you have problems with it try using .331 it does not require SDL_gfx
